Electrician

Position Summary: – An Electrician installs, maintains, and repairs electrical systems, wiring and components in commercial and residential settings.

Communication skills are equally as important for an Electrician. Electricians often interact directly with clients, explaining issues, providing maintenance tips, and discussing potential system upgrades. Building trust and rapport with customers is essential, as it ensures a positive experience for the customer

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of electrical theory, codes and safety procedures
  • Solid communication and excellent customer service skills
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Proficient in reading schematics, blueprints, and work plans
  • Due to common working conditions, candidates must be able to function in extreme temperatures, and have the ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and climb ladders. Work will involve pushing/pulling, bending, turning and kneeling.
  • Must be willing to help with installs and other services if needed

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Install electrical systems, wiring, control, and lighting systems in new and existing buildings. This includes installing conduits, circuit breakers, outlets, and fixtures
  • Maintain and repair existing electrical systems and equipment. This involves fixing issues like power outages, replacing old wiring, and repairing faulty circuit breakers.
  • Diagnose and solve electrical problems by using testing devices to identify malfunctions in systems and equipment.
  • Inspect and test electrical components such as transformers, circuit breakers, and wiring to ensure they are safe and working correctly.
  • Interpret blueprints, sketches, and schematics to understand electrical layouts and plan installations.
  • Test each system after service/repair is complete to ensure the system is functioning properly.
  • Perform proper inspection of customer systems to prevent future issues.
  • Explain to customers each service and repair performed.

Accurately document:

  • Age and type of each system component on invoices
  • Services completed
  • Discussion with customers regarding current and/or future equipment/service requirements
  • Invoices and costs for service
  • Debrief with dispatch after each service call.
  • Turn in all parts receipts, packing slips, contracts, and invoices daily.
  • Wear floor savers while working in client homes.
  • Inspect area for cleanliness after job completion.
  • Maintain company vehicle, ensuring cleanliness and organization, both inside and out.
